Advanced E-mail Encryption Now Available
As part of our efforts to continually help to ensure your bank's privacy -- and the privacy of your customers -- in doing business with us, BNY Mellon Enterprise Treasury Services (Enterprise) has implemented an advanced level of encryption for the delivery and exchange of electronic documents.
Through Enforced Transport Layer Security (Enforced TLS) technology, communications and documents exchanged via e-mail, Internet fax and other electronic data transfer methods are encrypted for an enhanced level of security. Enforced TLS takes electronic document security to the next level as it encrypts electronic data transfers without the use of passwords, which can be forgotten or shared among unapproved users.
The technology requires both the sender's and receiver's e-mail servers to be "enabled" to receive encrypted data. To ensure that your financial institution's e-mail server is properly enabled to receive Enforced TLS's advanced security in your data exchanges with us, please have your e-mail administrator send a request to our technicians at TLSAdmin@bnymellon.com.
If Enforced TLS is not enabled on your institution's e-mail server, you will continue to receive e-mails and electronic data from Enterprise under your current password-protected protocols.
As always, BNY Mellon Enterprise Treasury Services is committed to finding ways to help you operate more efficiently and within the highest level of data security. For more information, contact your BNY Mellon Enterprise Relationship Officer.
