iTelecash Implements Security Enhancements

Beginning Feb. 1, 2007, Mellon Working Capital Solutions (WCS) will start a process to phase in secondary authentication — a dual-process for identifying authorized users — for Mellon iTelecash®, our online information reporting and transaction initiation service.

The process, mandated by the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) is required for anyone using Internet-based products and services involving access to customer information or the movement of funds.

Although Mellon WCS regularly evaluates and enhances its systems as needed to ensure that customer and transaction information remain secure and confidential, we must implement the secondary authentication process as part of the heightened security measures mandated by the FFIEC guidelines.

A Two-step Process
To comply with the FFIEC mandate, Mellon is first requiring that all iTelecash users within an organization establish individual user IDs, as opposed to having one K number per organization.

The process of converting current iTelecash users to unique user IDs — called Up-Front Logon (UFL) Conversion — will result in:

Throughout 2007, we will also focus on implementing secondary user-authentication method for iTelecash users.

We will notify all iTelecash customers of their UFL conversion dates throughout 2007.

For more information on UFL, please refer to the materials currently located on the iTelecash Welcome Page under the "FFIEC Documents" category.

Please call your Mellon Client Support Administrator for more information on the UFL process or the FFIEC guidelines, and look for a future issue of Update at a Glance for more information on Mellon WCS' UFL enhancement for iTelecash.
