Mellon Investor Services Appointed Transfer Agent for Neiman Marcus
RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J., September 30, 2002 Mellon Investor Services (MIS) has been appointed transfer agent, registrar, dividend disbursing agent and dividend reinvestment agent for The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, MIS will manage all stock transfer activities for Neiman Marcus' registered shareholders.

The Neiman Marcus Group includes the Specialty Retail Stores, which consists of Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus Direct, which conducts the Company's direct marketing operations.
