Michael is a senior investment strategist focused on the US Opportunistic Value suite of strategies. He is involved in the daily activity of the investment team without investment decision-making responsibility. He is responsible for communicating the team's strategies to clients, prospective clients and consultants, serving as the critical interface between client-facing staff and the investment team. In this role, Michael allows the investment team to focus on their investment management responsibilities, while he provides real-time insights about positioning and the outlook for the Opportunistic Value strategies.
Before joining the firm, he worked at Putnam Investments, where he served as managing director and institutional portfolio manager for the small- and mid-cap asset class portfolios. He also served as a lead portfolio manager at Putnam Investments and Phoenix Investment Counsel. Previously, while at Kemper Financial Services, Michael's responsibilities included research coverage of the media and entertainment industries, associate manager of the research department and co-management of six mutual funds. Michael has been in the investment industry since 1977.
Michael received a MBA from Indiana University and a BBA from Southern Methodist University. He also holds the CFA® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
